Christmas Country Tree Farm!
Santa arrives every year on one weekend in December and hears children's wish lists in Santa's Shed. The idea started several years ago because of the impersonal and commercial nature of most Santa appearances. "We're grandparents ourselves", Skip says "And, we know the season is hectic enough without all the added things you want to do for your children- like a visit with Santa. To some children, Santa Claus is a magical figure. But, it seemed confusing when every mall you visited had its own Santa Claus, so we wanted to make it more real for them. Besides, what better location to visit Santa Claus than at a Christmas tree farm? And, we also have our own North Pole mailbox for the children to drop off their wish lists for Santa". Description of Christmas Country Tree Farm: Growing trees for many years, we have over 10 thousand trees and a wide variety of harvestable trees available. We offer a great selection- over six different varieties are available- Scotch Pines, Douglas Firs, Concolor Firs, Fraser Firs, White Spruces, and Blue Spruces. Growing trees is a year- long process! You need to monitor, groom, protect them from pests, as well as do maintenance tasks such as mowing. There's many steps to growing a healthy tree, involving month by month work. The steps include planting 1000 pencil length seedlings or larger transplants by hand, fertilizing, weeding, spraying and finally pruning for three years so the tree attains that perfect shape. Harvesting items are on display- saws, tree measuring sticks, carry carts, and Santa's mailbox. Light refreshments are available in Santa's shed. Come and enjoy the spirit of Christmas at Christmas Country, where we still believe in Santa!

Discover Wildlife at Christmas Country Farm We have many visitors to our Christmas tree farm throughout the year, including wildlife! It is always interesting and sometimes exciting to watch them perform their many everyday tasks. Our Christmas and apple trees provide favorite grazing sites for the deer. And, our swampy wetlands area provides a safe screen for their home. You will find many species of birds- blue birds, red cardinals, red winged black birds, crows, finches, hummingbirds, pheasants, and owls- nesting among our Christmas trees. Migrating geese love to land in the fields for a rest period. Hawks and bald eagles swirl overhead looking for food. Woodchucks (ground hogs), rabbits, red foxes, coyotes, skunks, raccoons, chipmunks, squirrels, and moles have been seen foraging in the fields. Field mice live among the trees and become food for the predators- particularly foxes and hawks. Come and discover these animals. And, let us know if you uncover other species of wildlife living on our farm!
